What is the POC Showcase
Not just a screening.
A pitch room.
The Redux POC Showcase combines a curated live screening with a structured pitch opportunity — giving filmmakers direct access to buyers, distributors, and platform executives who can turn their concept into a full production. The industry moves fast. Redux creates the room to slow it down long enough for the right conversations to happen.

The process
How the POC
Showcase works.
Four stages. From submission to the pitch room. Every step is designed to put your concept in front of the people who can make it real.
01
Submit your POC
Submit your proof-of-concept film through FilmFreeway during the regular submission window. Select "POC / Proof of Concept" as your category and choose either Short-to-Feature or Concept-to-Series. Include your pitch deck or one-pager if available.
02
Selection & notification
Redux's programming jury selects POC films based on concept viability, execution quality, and market potential. Selected POC filmmakers are notified March 1, 2027 — before the general lineup announcement. You receive early confirmation so you can prepare your pitch.
03
The live screening
Your POC is screened to a curated audience during the festival — including the buyers and distributors who are attending specifically for the POC Showcase. This is your film doing what it was designed to do: proving the concept in a real room, to real people.
04
The pitch room
After the screening, selected POC filmmakers participate in a structured pitch session with attending buyers, distributors, and platform executives. Think: Shark Tank meets Sundance. Ten minutes to present your vision. Real questions. Real opportunities. Real conversations.
POC categories
Two paths.
One pitch room.
Redux recognizes two distinct POC categories — each with a dedicated screening block and pitch session. Submit to the category that matches your project's intended format.
Category 01
Short-to-Feature POC
A short film or visual proof-of-concept created to demonstrate the vision, tone, and viability of a planned feature film. This is your calling card — the film that proves you can execute the feature you're pitching. Buyers want to see: directorial voice, cinematography, performance quality, story world establishment.
Award: Best Short-to-Feature POC
Category 02
Concept-to-Series POC
A pilot episode, sizzle reel, or short-form proof-of-concept designed to demonstrate the potential of a scripted or unscripted series. Built for the streaming age — where buyers need to see the world, the characters, and the hook before committing. Buyers want to see: series potential, character development, tone, hook, binge-ability.
Award: Best Concept-to-Series POC
Also awarded under Special & Jury Awards
The Best POC Award is presented at the Redux Indie Filmmaker Awards Gala — the highest honor in the POC Showcase. It goes to the proof-of-concept that makes the room want to see everything that comes next.
What buyers look for
What makes a
strong POC submission.
Our jury and attending buyers have a clear picture of what they're looking for. Here's how to give your POC the best chance of selection — and the best chance in the pitch room.
For Short-to-Feature
Clear directorial voiceThe buyer needs to know what they're getting. Your visual style, pacing, and tone should be unmistakably yours from the first frame.
World establishmentWe should understand the world of your feature in under 20 minutes. Location, period, social environment, genre tone.
Central character or conflictGive us a reason to follow someone for 90+ minutes. The POC should introduce who or what we're following — and why we care.
Production qualityThe POC doesn't need a big budget. It needs to show what you can do with the budget you have — and suggest what you'd do with more.
A pitch deck or treatmentNot required for submission — but strongly recommended. Walk into the pitch room prepared. Know your budget ask, your comps, and your market.
For Concept-to-Series
The hookWhat makes someone click episode two? Buyers want to feel the pull of the show from the first minutes of the pilot or sizzle.
Character ensembleSeries live and die on characters. Show us who the people are, what they want, and what's standing in their way across multiple episodes.
Platform clarityKnow where your show lives. Is it Netflix? HBO? A24 (A24 TV)? FX? Knowing your target platform tells buyers you understand the landscape.
ScalabilityCan this run for 3 seasons? Where does the story go? Buyers think long-term. Show them you do too.
The series bibleBring a bible. Episode synopses for at least 6 episodes. Character breakdowns. World rules. The more prepared you are, the more serious you look.
The pitch room
